This wine glass was possibly used by Lister as a culture glass. The glass dome protects the culture from dust, micro-organisms and other contaminants in the air. A model representation made from plaster has been placed in the glass to show what the contents may have looked like. The glass is shown here with a similar example without a dome cover (A641100).
